The Office of Human Resources is pleased to announce an addition to our online training program. We have added a Preventing Employment Discrimination module which will cover employment law and the interviewing and hiring process. It is designed for use as an annual refresher course for administrators and supervisors and will be used for search committee training. (PeopleAdmin training will be handled separately.)

The online program allows you to take the training at your leisure. It may be taken all in one session or you may bookmark and return at a later time. You will need to allow up to 90 minutes to take the training program. You may locate the training on the HR website at http://training.newmedialearning.com/ped/jacksonvillestu/. Once you enter the program, you will select a track appropriate to your position: Faculty, Supervisory or Non-supervisory. Please note that the Non-supervisory module is an overview on employment law and excludes the interviewing and hiring portion. If you are assigned to a search committee, you must take the Faculty or Supervisory module. This training module replaces the classroom training sessions for search committees.

There will be a test at the end that you are required to pass. When you pass the exam, HR will be notified of the successful completion.  You will also be given the option of printing a completion certificate. Please print and retain in your files. This is required training for administrators and supervisors and must be completed on an annual basis. Others are encouraged, but not required, to take this training. Please complete this program by August 31, 2010. By your participating in this training, it helps control our liability insurance rates.

Please contact Judy Harrison, email at harrison@jsu.edu or call X8569, if you have questions.
