Updated: July 28, 2010, 1:53 p.m.- If you are on campus and still experiencing problems with your telephone service, please submit a TSR in order to help Telephone Center diagnose and repair.
All Jacksonville State University incoming and outgoing telephone service with the exception of administrative long distance and all phone service in at JSU McClellan has now been restored, according to Vinson Houston, acting vice president for information technology.
Student long distance is functioning normally.
Restoration to JSU McClellan's service at Building 3181 has been delayed due to problems both at JSU and in the building's mini-system. It is not yet known when service will be restored; however, Houston said university and vendor technicians are working diligently to analyze and repair the problem.
Houston encourages those with JSU voice mail to check their mailboxes, even if the red light is not lit, for any messages that may have been delivered while the system was not functioning properly. Once the mailbox is checked, it should reset and the light should begin functioning properly.
